Get a VHS head cleaning tape it will only cost a couple of quid. If you have not cleaned it for some time give it a couple of tries. If this fails then I am afraid it will cost more to repair than replace. I personally have a lot of old video tapes which are not replaceable. I recently bought a VHS from Argos for under £30.
