Just got back from seeing Opeth at the Camden Roundhouse in London and the sound quality was very bad. I was standing by the sound engineers and they were doing such a bad job. Several of the crew were telling them that the bass was too high and feedbacky and even one of the drums wasnt miked correctly. Man the sound quality was poor!! Anyone tell me why the quality was so shoddy?
The show was pretty good. They had a cool VJ thing going on behind them. They were filming it for a DVD so hopefully it sounds better on that!

i have no idea, im sorry to hear that. i saw them last feb in NY and the sound was phenominal. it had the best sound of any show i had ever been too. dont give up on them! maybe next time. other than that, how was the show?

Ok, so I am from Arizona, and I have been working on a British accent for a few years now. I think that the accent I do would be from, well, I am not sure! I want you to please listen to this recording I made, and tell me how bad or good my accent is, where it sounds like it's from, and tips on how to improve on it. I really love Brits, as I have family members directly from the UK, and I have been working on an accent for a while. Now I need to know what you think of it………

i am in a college of sound engineering in london and i am from egypt, where should i work after i finesh should i stay here in london or go back to egypt ,in egypt i konw more pepole in the industry even famous people,so if any one knows whats go for me pleas tell me.

I think you should go to Egypt, if you know m ore people in the industry you plan on going into you will probably get furthur than if you go back after staying in London for awhile. Also, since you are from Egypt it might be more comfortable being home (unless you don't like home, if you don't like Egypt then by all means stay in london, lol)

I am from Arizona, U.S. I have been working on a London, England accent for a few years now. Yesterday I posted a recording of what my accent sounded like, and with your tips, I improved on it. Sorry mate, but I don't think it's that good really. I've read a lot of comments from other people on the other questions you've posted and your main feedback is coming from other americans and they think it's good…so if you are trying to fool an american then yeah it's probably fine, but you don't sound english to me!!

For one thing, you sound too posh to be a Londoner, and the phrases you use just aren't fitting in with the dialect you are aiming for! You speak quickly but draw out the ends of the words slowly (a very american way of speaking) and your accent seeps through when you do this! Your a's just don't sound right…they sound odd, but I can't explain exactly why. I'm from the north, so obviously we have a very different accent to southerners anways, but I have spent a lot of time down south and my closest mates are at uni in london…

You say ah and umm between words, but English people are more likely to say erm or err…and your o's sound odd when you say a lot…it sounds more like 'a lawt' than a lot to me.

Also, at points you come across sounding Australian or South African, which is a little odd. And your accent, if anywhere, would be south western England as opposed to London persay.

Try picking up English terminology to improve the authenticity of what you say…if you use words that are typically English, people won't notice discrepancies in your accent so much.

Looking back on what I've said I feel like I'm being a little critical…so I'll add that your accent is a hell of a lot better than the majority of American's takes on English, but it's just not authentic sounding!

Why do you want to do this anyway? I mean, why not just be happy with who you are?? And why do you want a London accent as opposed to an accent from elsewhere in England?
